Decent source of review questions

Several of my classmates and I got this book as an ABSITE review source. I think that it has a significant amount of material and covers many subjects well. There are some claims made by the author that I feel are still quite controversial. There were some errors as well, it seems like they were in a rush to get this out for the 2006 ABSITE. Overall, a decent source of questions/answers that covers a lot of ground. Somewhat time consuming. Some chapters much better than others.

Good source of questions for ABSITE or Boards

As a general surgery resident I purchased this book to assist in my ABSITE review. I think this book provides a comprehensive review of common testable surgery topics but some chapters are better than others. The chapters are constructed to cover a different topic via a Q&A format. Each chapter is written by different authors so there is not a repeated framework for each section. This means that some sections are long and tedious while others are well-written and the questions are constructed in a more ABSITE/boards format. There are some errors in the textbook as well. The reader answers a set of questions (number varies per chapter) and then the answers are given at the end with extensive explanation. I enjoyed the explanation and definitely felt this was valuable to my learning. This is not a book that you can pick up 2 weeks before the ABSITE for a quick review. It is time intensive and will require some dedicated study time to get through but definitely worth it. An updated edition would earn 5 stars from me.

Good book

I have only just started using this review but am quite impressed with it. This book was suggested to me by a resident I met as a 4th year while at an interview.
I feel that it covers most if not all of the important topics tested on the ABSITE, and has very detailed easy to read explanations. Note that this is purely a Q and A book.
Overall, I am happy with my purchase. Another book you can try is the Rush review which I am told is also very good..
