not bad but ...

it could be so much better. Again as in book II ... the artwork's downright ugly and there are too many quizzes and not enough kanji. The kanji were introduced at too leisurely a pace IMO. To be fair even though I knew all JLPT4 kanji I did learn new stuff from this workbook but it's not something I want or need to keep. Xeroxed quizzes and donated to charity for tax deduction.

About the Author

i think of the bad guy in Crow Michael Wincott

I think they keep missing on the Voice characters. I think Sevatar was not properly done. When i think Sevatar, i think of the bad guy in Crow Michael Wincott. The stories overall were okay. nothing to get to excited about. I think they fell short on Luther's character as well. I think the cover art kind of pulled me the rest of the way in.

Peter Trudgill is Professor of Sociolinguistics at the University of Agder. This is one of my favourite books of all time

This is one of my favourite books of all time. I still have my very old paperback version but it is so old now and the pages are yellowing, so I decided to purchase a beautiful hardback edition. I will of course read it once again.

A well planned text

I am a Grad. student taking a Neural Basis of Comm. class. It's been over 5 years since I've had the prerequisite neuroanatomy class so I've been a little worried about being able to review and catch up. I'm glad I bought this book. This book has really great graphic aids which helps me understand concepts better. Just last night I was reading a description that wasn't making sense to me and then when I saw the diagram on the next page I was able to understand it. The writing in this book is precise and doesn't bog the reader down with so much detail that the concept is totally lost. It's not easy reading, but it doesn't put me to sleep almost immediately like some other speech anatomy textbooks have. Even if it's not your asssigned textbook, if you have to take a neuroscience/neuroanatomy class I'd reccomend this book as a good resource.

Good book, but no page numbers

This book does what it is supposed to. It's a great source and an easy enough read considering the content. A bit dry at times but otherwise efficient. My only problem is that this kindle addition does not include page numbers that coincide with the actual book. In my Neuro class the teacher assigned specific page numbers and sections to cover the things she really wanted to focus on. This was an extremely difficult obstacle to overcome as I am taking classes online and the teacher couldn't simply show me which pages she was referring to and since the kindle addition doesn't have page numbers available. I am really disappointed that a text book would be missing this essential feature.

This textbook is really a huge help in my course on neuroscience and communication disorders. It is well written and the author gives credit to the other professors who put their expertise in the book as well. I like how there are terms at the end of each chapter

A must-have

Incredible book; very readable and comprehensive and without a doubt a must have. I recommended the stroke chapter to anyone starting their journey in neurology. It is my go to reference with the added benefit of being engaging. It is extremely well written, which makes the absorbed material quite memorable. Essential for both the wards and the boards. Cannot recommend this book highly enough!

I have noticed that the frequency of orthostatic tremor as printed in the table on tremors is incorrect, but correct in the text This error regarding orthostatic tremor has persisted in multiple editions in one form or another over many years and will probably continue because of the difficulty of getting this message to either the editors or the publisher

I have been using this text for years because it has been consistently authoritative and up to date. There has been an invaluable section discussing all the broad categories of neurological problems followed by chapters with detailed descriptions of individual diseases. The current edition follows this organization but has been extensively revised to keep pace with the advances in neurology especially in therapies and clinical neuroscience. The other major change in this edition is greatly enhanced coverage of neuroimaging.

Mexican artists participated in this social revolution during a vital two-decade period through public art programmes funded by the government and other institutions. Applying a social-historical methodology, Leonard Folgarait examines this phenomenon and focuses on the mural paintings of Diego Rivera, José Orozco, and David Siqueiros produced during this period. He provides an indepth analysis of the form and meaning of these mural cycles, while documenting the system of patronage, the critical connections between state policy and aesthetics, and the visual strategies devised by patrons and artists in order to maximise the impact of these propagandistic images.
